You run the room. Auto Assist grades, reads aloud, and keeps an eye on the pace so you do not have to.
Auto Assist is a set of helpers for a human host. You still ask the questions, read the room, and make every call. Auto Assist takes the busywork: it suggests grades for typed answers, reads questions aloud on the TV, and tells you when the room is ready for the next step.
You stay in charge of the scores. A clear match counts toward that player's own score as soon as it is graded, team points wait until you confirm scores, and you can flip any grade. Every assist can be switched off in the middle of a game.
Auto Assist is on every plan. In a game's details, open Advanced and choose Auto Assist instead of Human Host. A game set up that way opens its live console with grading suggestions and pacing hints switched on. Read-aloud has its own switch. In any game, open the Assist tab in the live console to turn each assist on or off as you go.
The live console remembers your switches on that browser, so a choice you made last week carries over to tonight.
Typed answers are checked as they arrive. Exact and close matches (a typo, a missing article) are graded for free, in every game. A list of guesses or half an answer is never a close match; it waits for a look. In an Auto Assist game, answers that are really unclear go to Auto, which uses a small amount of Brain Credits. In a Human Host game, or when your wallet is empty, they wait for you to grade by hand. Name That Tune answers are always graded for free.
When you reveal the answer, the scoring list marks each graded answer Suggested, and the ones Auto was unsure about Check. Anything still waiting can be sent with the Suggest grades button in the Assist tab. Look them over, flip any you disagree with, then press Confirm Scores. A clear match already counts toward its player's score; team scores do not change until you confirm.
Multiple choice and true or false answers always match exactly, so suggestions matter most for short answer rounds.
Read-aloud speaks the question and its choices when you show it, the answer when you reveal it, and a score recap when you confirm. Pick which of those it reads, and the gap between them, in the Auto Voice panel of the live console.
It plays on the TV by default, because that is where a venue's speakers usually are. If the TV cannot play sound yet (some browsers need one tap on the screen first), it plays on your laptop instead so no line is lost. You can also choose This laptop in the Assist tab.
Pick and tune the voice (speed, pitch, volume) in the game's details or your saved Custom Voices. A slower voice reads better in a loud room.
One line under the main button tells you what the room is waiting on: every phone has answered, time is up, how many answers still need a look before you confirm, or that it is time for the next question. It is a nudge, never an action: you still press the button.
Rather not see any of it? Turn on No AI in your account Settings, under Gameplay. It hides every Auto feature, including grading suggestions, read-aloud and voices, question generation, recaps, the Event Builder chat, and Brain Credits, and Brainflood runs none of them for you while it is on. Free grading of exact and close matches keeps working.
Brainflood used to offer a Full Auto Host that ran a whole game by itself. It was retired: Brainflood is built for human hosts, and a room plays better with a person on the mic. Saved templates and event activities that used it now start as human hosted games, and tournament matches are always run by a host.
Solo practice games and the Daily Challenge still run on their own, because there is no host in the room for those.
